After Bhutan, I am so ready for this. The hotel has been curated so every nook and cranny offers a moment of aesthetic delight. From the design to service, it’s all very understated with a lot of smiles and traditional Thai greetings. Except for the tea service, which is over the top. I think I injured myself trying to make a respectable dent in the piles of sweets and savories.
The clientele seems to be mostly very polite but warm upperclass English couples in their twilight years. There are a few obnoxious honeymooners running amok but they are definitely in the minority. I’ll stick to the afternoon tea and evening gin set, thank you very much.
If it’s within reach of your budget, definitely worth the tariff if you can see your way to a Club Suite. Inclusive of sumptuous breakfast, Asian or continental, evening cocktails and all day snacks with tea. Not to mention complimentary airport transfers, laundry service and a full complimentary mini bar for you imbibers out there. Oh, and the tea service that nearly killed me was also complimentary.
